Good Deeds by the Savings Bank Group

  • The Savings Bank Group differs from many other banks through its community-based structure. Each year, we allocate a significant share of our profits to support the well-being, education, and research of local communities.
  • In 2025, the total amount of donations from Savings Banks and grants awarded by Savings Bank Foundations reached an impressive EUR 3.1 million, distributed to more than 1,000 causes across Finland.
  • For years, a key focus has been supporting children and young people — for example through hobby and sports clubs, mental health organisations, and other non-profit initiatives doing valuable work.

What is the Good Deeds campaign all about?

Good Deeds is the Savings Banks Group's annual campaign through which we support the wellbeing of local communities. Through the campaign, Savings Banks and Savings Bank trusts support, for example, youth activities, sports and hobby clubs and other activities around Finland. In recent years, we have particularly prioritized supporting the well-being of children and the youth.

At the end of the campaign, the proposals and votes are distributed by region to the Savings Banks for decision-making. The vote is indicative, and Savings Banks and Savings Bank’s trusts make the decisions about the recipients and the amounts of donations. Decisions about the recipients of the donations are made during the year and are reported on our social media channels throughout the year. Therefore, we recommend following the Savings Banks on social media!

Hundrets of donation objects all over Finland

For us, responsibility is deeds instead of words, Good Deeds. It is a commitment to the local community, to the future of young people and to economic well-being. Over the years, through our donation objects, we have been able to witness numerous great big and small stories and deeds.

The Good Deeds 2025 campaign provided support to more than 1,000 causes across Finland. Once again, special emphasis was placed on hobby and club activities as well as youth mental health work, which emerged as an important theme in many regions.
Grants awarded by the Savings Bank Foundations also focused on supporting the education and culture of young people and young adults, as well as promoting youth entrepreneurship. The total amount reached a record-breaking EUR 3.1 million. Read more (In Finnish).
